Albert S. Barber Award

Impact on Philosophy, Pedagogy and/or Practice of WIL

NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN UNTIL JUNE 5, 2024 - PLEASE CLICK HERE TO COMPLETE YOUR SUBMISSION

The Albert S. Barder Award (Impact on Philosophy, Pedagogy and/or Practice of WIL) celebrates small and large scale initiatives (non scholarly research) by individuals or teams that have significantly contributed to advancing the principles, pedagogy and/or practice of WIL within a Canadian Institution. It highlights initiatives that effectively bridge theoretical foundations with practical implementations, recognizing the role of WIL pedagogy in translating philosophical concepts into actionable frameworks, methodologies and strategies.

Beyond theoretical and pedagogical discourse, this award commends outstanding WIL practices that demonstrate tangible execution and thoughtful operationalization of WIL programs and initiatives. This includes but is not limited to the recognition of administrative, collaborative and logistical efforts necessary for developing, implementing and sustaining WIL opportunities. Ultimately this award underscores the significance of effective implementation and collaborative efforts in shaping impactful learning opportunities.

This award is reserved specifically for initiatives that do not fall within the category of scholarly research. Scholarly research initiatives should instead be submitted to the Dr. Graham Branton Research Award.
